Silly Halloween Poem

As night this Samhain time begins,

the veil between the worlds is thin

Goblins, ghouls, and ghosts delight

in causing mischief, tricks, and fright

Witches fly and banshees keen

All spirits know it’s Halloween

The moon hangs heavy in the sky

Wolves whine and howl as black cats cry

Fog drifts past graves and fallen leaves

Children bicker over sweets

If you should spy me in the woods

muttering spells garbed in a hood—

Simply look the other way

and greet me in the light of day.
